Typical Session

Each initial session will include a consultation which will involve taking a full medical history.

It is important that you tell the reflexologist as much as possible so that they can form a clear picture of your previous and present health, as this will help them to prepare a detailed treatment plan suited to your needs.

You will also be asked to sign a consent form, and all information received will be kept confidential.

The reflexologist will then explain reflexology to you and make sure that you understand how it works, and how you may feel during and after a treatment.

If having reflexology on your feet, you will be asked to remove your footwear and socks or hosiery, and your feet will be cleansed with antiseptic wipes before commencing.

The reflexologist will then use relaxation techniques on your feet or hands, before applying pressure to stimulate or soothe reflex points, which may help to restore free flow of energy to the whole body. There may be some discomfort during the treatment, but generally the experience should be relaxing. You may also be given aftercare advice at the end of the session and a course of treatments may be recommended.

It is always useful to give the reflexologist as much feedback as possible, during and after treatment, so that they can keep the treatment plan tailored to your needs.
